Tone

Though undrafted after earning NAIA All-American honors at Pfeiffer University in Misenhiemer NC, Antonio “Tone” Harvey started for the Los Angeles Lakers on opening night in 1993(the only undrafted rookie in Lakers history to do so) and went on to play two seasons with the Lakers. He also played for the Vancouver, Grizzlies, LA Clippers, Seattle Supersonics, Portland Trail Blazers and the Atlanta Hawks, in the NBA as well as in Italy, Greece, Poland, Spain and the USBL.

Tone averaged 18.3 points and 10.1 rebounds per game as a senior at Pfeiffer in 1992-93 and was named the Carolina Conference Player of the Year. Antonio averaged 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore for the University of Georgia, Bulldogs in 1990-91 before transferring to Pfeiffer, where he played two seasons and blossomed as a senior.

After 2 seasons with the Trail Blazers, Tone chose the Rose City as the place to raise his family after 10 years in the NBA.  In 2005 Tone re-joined the Trail Blazers as a member of the Broadcasting team as the radio analyst, working alongside familiar play-by-play voice Brian Wheeler, Antonio provides insightful commentary on the team, the NBA and the game of basketball.

Tone is a true renaissance man.  An avid reader, Chef, and Classic Car Restorer, Tone has a personal collection of over 300 books, including several rare first runs, such as “The Autobiography of Malcolm X” written by Alex Haley, “Soul On Ice” By Eldridge Cleaver, “Soledad Brother” by George Jackson.  Tone loves to cook and has been a featured guest on cooking shows from coast to coast.  In his spare time, Tone likes to work on classic cars, his collections has included: ‘70 Chevy Chevelle, ‘72 Buick Electra 225, ‘68 Impala, ‘66 Impala, ‘78 Lincoln Mark 5, ‘73 Lincoln Mark 4, ‘73 Cadillac Eldorado Convertable, ‘78 Cadillac Eldorado Hardtop.
